Florida law (Chapter 468, Part XVI) restricts the same entity from performing both mold assessment and mold remediation on the same property within defined time periods, with specific exceptions. The policy intent is simple: reduce the conflict of interest when the same company that diagnoses the problem also profits from solving it.
In practice, most Florida mold companies hold both licenses (MRSA for assessment and MRSR for remediation) and route work between two arms of the same business. The legal letter is met. The legal spirit is broken.
